GenZD Zero offers a robust platform for running games based on the open-source idTech 1 game engine on iOS devices. It seamlessly handles "WAD" game files as well as community-created "MOD" files, utilizing modern rendering technologies for optimal performance. Among its advanced features are state-of-the-art 3D rendering capabilities, widescreen graphics, dynamic lighting, and a fully scriptable environment, significantly enhancing the gaming experience beyond the original engine's offerings.

It is important to note that GenZD Zero does not include game content; users must provide their own files. To integrate your content, the Files app can be used to move or copy files into the GenZD folder under "On my iPhone" or "On my iPad".

The app supports the creation of "Launch Configurations," allowing users to define setups using a base game file along with additional MOD files (specifically .pk3 and .zip formats). A vast array of community-developed content is readily accessible online, with most mods compatible that utilize UDMF or WAD formats.

While GenZD Zero accommodates any "WAD" and "mod," it restricts users to three launch configurations and provides a single touch configuration layout. Upgrading to the full version offers the advantage of unlimited launch configurations and personalized touch control layouts.
